The co-founder of Raffles Medical Group whose hospitals and clinics are all over Singapore

Dr Loo Choon Yong is the executive chairman of Singapore-listed Raffles Medical Group, which he co-founded in 1976, and today operates more than 100 clinics across the region. It also manages Raffles Hospital, a tertiary-care private medical establishment with branches in Singapore and China.

Last year, the group posted a 27.4 per cent increase in revenue to a record $723.8 million, with a 29.5 per cent rise in after-tax profit to $83.7 million. Dr Loo’s total interest in the group is 53.16 per cent, an increase from 51.93 per cent in 2014.

Dr Loo is also chairman of the Asian Medical Foundation and Raffles Health Insurance, as well as director of International SOS (MC Holdings). Currently the non‑resident ambassador to Poland, he has been appointed a director of the Qatar Free Zones Authority, an independent authority to oversee and regulate world‑class free zones in Qatar.
