Loh Boon Chye

With a career in the financial industry spanning more than three decades, Loh Boon Chye has played a pivotal role in shaping Southeast Asia’s capital markets. Since assuming the role of chief executive officer of the Singapore Exchange (SGX) in 2015, he has spearheaded the bourse operator’s transformation into a leading world-class multi-asset exchange, positioning it as a primary gateway to Asia across equities, fixed income, currencies and commodities.

Under his leadership, SGX Group has systematically broadened its international presence across 10 cities, launched innovative data ventures such as SGX Index Edge, and executed key strategic acquisitions, including the Baltic Exchange in 2016 as well as Scientific Beta and BidFX in 2020. Loh also serves as an executive and non-independent director on the SGX Board, sits on the board of GIC, chairs the Sim Kee Boon Institute for Financial Economics Advisory Board, co-chairs the Council for Board Diversity, and serves as chairman of the World Federation of Exchanges.

Loh’s commercial stewardship led SGX to one of its strongest periods of financial performance for the fiscal year ended June 2026, recording S$ 1.48 billion in net revenue (up 13.9 per cent) and an adjusted net profit of S$759.5 million (up 24.6 per cent). Driven by a surge in securities turnover and a major resurgence in capital formation, the exchange welcomed 21 new equity listings raising approximately S$4.1 billion. Through targeted market reforms, expanded risk-management offerings and deeper cross-border connectivity, Loh continues to reinforce Singapore's long-term financial ecosystem and regional competitiveness.
