Liz Kao is known as a “self-taught gourmet” and food blogger, whose work on her website, Taster, is widely read and respected by the food and beverage industry in Taiwan. It’s one of the few digital media of its scale in Taiwan that’s dedicated to food and dining.

She manages a personal blog, Self-Taught Gourmet, published two books on Taiwan’s food scene and culture, and recently launched a podcast on Spotify, Keywords for Food. In 2020, she founded an e-commerce platform called Taster Selection, expanding her reach with merchandise. She is also a contributor to the Louis Vuitton Taipei City Guide. Kao is a former lawyer with a master’s degree from Harvard Law School.
