Liu Shuting’s company Supermonkey started out as a single self-service gym in Shenzhen. These days it’s become a unicorn on the back of China’s growing love of working out, aiming to be a fitness one-stop-shop with a hybrid model that takes in everything from physical gyms to app-based training sessions and WeChat mini programmes. It has raised US$76.3 million in funding over five rounds.
