Chairman and co-founder, Soilbuild Group
Lim Chap Huat is the chairman and co-founder of Soilbuild Group Holdings, a construction engineering company that develops and builds residential and industrial properties. Lim started the firm with three friends in 1976, and took the business from strength to strength. Soilbuild has expanded in the region over the years, moving into countries such as Vietnam and Myanmar. Under Lim’s leadership, the group also made its first foray into the offshore and marine sector when it extended part of a SG$60m equity deal to Marco Polo Marine in late 2017.
Lim, who graduated with a diploma in civil engineering from Singapore Polytechnic, is also a non-executive director of SB Reit Management, which oversees Soilbuild Business Space REIT. He also serves as the chairman of the Chong Pang Community Club management committee.
