Lilis Setiadi

CEO, PT Batavia Prosperindo Asset Management

Lilis Setiadi draws focus to the role of women in finance, as the CEO of PT Batavia Prosperindo Asset Management’s phenomenal rise to become a financial powerhouse

In just two years since joining PT Batavia Prosperindo Asset Management, Lilis Setiadi was able to grow the business to make it one of the largest private-asset companies in Indonesia. Under her leadership, BPAM grew by 18 per cent, above the industry average of 14 per cent, building up the company’s worth to US$1.1 billion.

The impressive figures come as no great surprise, given Setiadi’s sterling credentials. In 1995 she graduated from Oklahoma State University, USA, with a degree in Marketing and International Business. Prior to her stint at BPAM, Setiadi assumed various roles in blue-chip corporations, such as head of sales at Deutsche Bank’s Global Securities Services and director of mutual funds at Schroder Investment Indonesia.

Setiadi led BPAM’s IPO offering back in 2014. Last year, the company launched two exchange-traded funds, or ETFs, to further expand the business.
