Senior research scientist, Genome Institute of Singapore
Li Jingmei wants to save the world, one breast at a time. The 35-year-old scientist's current research, funded by the National Research Foundation, focuses on identifying women at high-risk of breast cancer in Singapore and making mammographic screening programmes more effective by personalising them to the level of individual risk. She also hopes to further study and bring awareness to non-cancerous breast infections that can be just as psychologically and physically damaging as cancer.
