His Shenzhen-based company Mindray supplies ventilators and medical equipment worldwide

Mindray’s fluorescent dye in haematology analysis, developed with the Dalian University of Technology, made headlines when it won second prize at the China National Science and Technology Awards for Invention. The company’s other products include the BeneView T Series patient monitor; the Resona 7 ultrasound system; the MobiEye 700 mobile digital radiography system; and the world’s first Hepatus Series Fibrosis Evaluation System.

The man behind Mindray is Anhui, China-born Singaporean Li Xiting. Li, who has a science degree from the University of Science and Technology of China, co-founded the company in Shenzhen in 1991.

Since the World Health Organization declared the coronavirus outbreak a pandemic in March 2020, Mindray has been supplying the world with medical devices, including ventilators. While the sale of ventilators has caused Li’s wealth to grow exponentially, and made him Singapore’s richest man according to Forbes, he remains grounded.

A man with a big heart, Li reportedly donated US$4.6m worth of medical devices to hospitals in Wuhan, China, northern Italy and other areas hard hit by the pandemic.
