Dato’ Sri Lee Kar Whatt is the founder and largest shareholder of Eco-Shop, a local budget-friendly store. Despite selling items for a mere RM2, a previous report stated that the business brings in around RM1 billion in annual sales. Lee’s commitment to people is evident, whether by providing affordable products to the masses or donating RM1 million to earthquake victims in Turkey earlier this year.

He is also the president of the Malaysian Social Entrepreneurs Foundation, established in 2021. The foundation aims to jointly build a charity and public welfare donation platform recognised by the corporate community, with the goal of developing a corporate culture that promotes giving back to society.
