Lee Chee Koon is group CEO of real estate giant CapitaLand, being appointed to the role in September 2018. Lee plays a key part in steering the firm towards its vision of “CapitaLand 3.0”, becoming an agile and focused real estate company that is balanced and diversified across asset classes and geographies, with a strong resolve for growth, under the third leadership team since its listing in 2000. Lee was named Outstanding CEO of the Year at the 2022 Singapore Business Awards for successfully leading CapitaLand’s restructuring.

Lee has overseen various initiatives under his tenure, including such notable developments as 2019’s acquisition of Ascendas-Singbridge for S$11 billion. The move marked CapitaLand’s diversification into the industrial properties, business parks and logistics sector. Globally, the firm also manages a network of commercial, residential, lodging, and asset and fund-management businesses in 30 countries.

Prior to his current appointment, Lee was CapitaLand CIO and CEO of its serviced-residence arm, The Ascott. The holder of a degree in mechanical engineering with first-class honours from the National University of Singapore also received the Business China Young Achiever Award in 2017 for strengthening Singapore-China relations through Ascott.
