Larisa Bakurova

Larisa Bakurova was born in 1985 in Odessa, Ukraine. From a young age, she displayed a passion and talent for rhythmic gymnastics, earning a place on the Ukrainian national team and achieving remarkable results in international competitions. In 2001, she transitioned to the modelling industry and obtained permanent residency in Taiwan in 2013, officially becoming a Taiwanese citizen in 2016. This cross-national journey has positioned her as a bridge for cultural exchange between Taiwan and Ukraine.

Bakurova’s entertainment career in Taiwan has been exceptionally successful, with appearances in television, film and advertisements. Her natural acting style is well-loved by audiences. In 2015, she married Mike, a businessman from Taiwan. She actively shares snippets of her life on social media, reflecting her interactions with family, love for Taiwan and nostalgia for her homeland.

However, Bakurova is not limited to her entertainment career; she is also dedicated to promoting the development of rhythmic gymnastics. She founded the Rising Star Rhythmic Gymnastics Association and serves as a coach, providing professional training for young athletes in Taiwan. She has led her team to participate in international competitions, achieving multiple accolades and elevating Taiwan’s presence on the global rhythmic gymnastics stage. Her commitment has expanded the horizons of gymnastics in Taiwan and inspired countless young athletes.

In 2023, Bakurova led her young gymnasts to compete at the Miss Valentine World Class Gymnastics Competition, where they secured one silver and one bronze medal. The following year brought even greater success with three golds and two silvers at another event, showcasing the strength of Taiwanese rhythmic gymnasts on an international level.
