A member of K-pop group Blackpink, the Thai performer has grown as a solo artist to become a cultural icon in her own right

Lalisa Manobal, famously known as Lisa, has transitioned from a record-breaking career with Blackpink to forging her own path in the global entertainment industry. After a decade-long journey with South Korea’s YG Entertainment, which saw her become one of the most prominent figures in K-pop, it was announced at the end of 2023 that Lisa and her Blackpink bandmates did not renew their individual contracts with YG Entertainment while still agreeing to continue group activities.

This departure marked a significant shift in Lisa’s career, as she launched her own artist management company, named Lloud, to give her more control over her music and brand. Under this new venture, she partnered with RCA Records to release her solo music while retaining full ownership of her recordings. Leveraging her extraordinary fanbase, diverse talents, and deep cultural influence, Lisa’s transition signals a calculated move to redefine her brand on her terms, expanding her impact across music, fashion, and digital content.

She debuted with her solo single Rockstar in June 2024, alongside its music video filmed on Yaowarat Road in Bangkok. The track set a record by achieving 100 million streams on Spotify within just 23 days of its release. Lisa also made a notable appearance at the 2024 MTV Video Music Awards, where she won the Best K-Pop award. She further solidified her popularity by performing live at the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show in October 2024.

Her impact, however, extends beyond music. She is also celebrated for her fashion sense and has become a cultural icon among fans worldwide. She has been a Global Brand Ambassador for Bulgari since 2021 and was announced as a House Ambassador for Louis Vuitton in 2024.

Lisa has received numerous accolades throughout her career, including several Guinness World Records and awards recognising her contributions to music and culture. In 2023 she was honoured by the Thai Ministry of Culture, and invested by King Charles III as an Honorary Member of the Order of the British Empire (MBE) for her influence in promoting Thai culture globally.
