Screenwriter, director and songwriter Kriangkrai is the mastermind behind breakout Thai teen series Hormones (2013 – 2015). Not only did he meticulously research, write, and direct the show that opened up conversations on previously taboo topics, the multi-talented creative also acted as the character Khru Ping, and wrote the music featured on all three seasons. Moved by The Truman Show, he studied cinematography at Chulalongkorn University. His first work was adapted from his own film novel February 29 and was well received. A notable filmmaker at GDH 559 production company, Kriangkrai also makes commercially successful feature films such as holiday flick A Gift (2016), which was screened at four international film festivals. In 2017, he was a producer for Project S the Series, a four part TV series about sports. Given the chance, he hopes to make a sci-fi feature film. The humble visionary says Hormones Season 3 is his favorite work because of the progress it made on raising questions about pertinent but silenced issues in our society, such as homesexuality, domestic abuse and drugs. The passionate director believes there is more to be done.
