CEO, Singapore Business Federation
Kok Ping Soon is the CEO of the Singapore Business Federation, beginning the role in June 2023. Prior to that, he was the chief executive of the Government Technology Agency of Singapore (GovTech), a statutory board under the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) that drives the country’s Smart Nation initiative and digital transformation of the public sector. As the head of GovTech, he oversaw the agency’s efforts in the fields of cybersecurity, data science, artificial intelligence, and the Internet of Things, with the overall aim of creating a government that is digital at its core, with building services that cater to the needs of citizens and businesses.
Kok has occupied various roles at the Economic Development Board, Singapore Tourism Board, Ministry of Manpower and Ministry of Trade & Industry. He was also senior director at the National Security Co-ordination Centre, which falls under the National Security Co-ordination Secretariat in the PMO.
Kok is also a district councillor in the North West Community Development Council, and a member of the World Economic Forum’s Global Futures Council on Behavioural Sciences. He is married with two daughters.
