Founder and executive director, Project Dignity
Empowering lives through inclusive enterprises that restore dignity and create jobs
A former management consultant, Koh Seng Choon founded Project Dignity to create sustainable livelihoods for people with disabilities and other disadvantaged groups. Established in 2010 with the launch of Dignity Kitchen, Singapore’s first hawker training school for the differently abled, the social enterprise was among the country’s earliest of its kind. Guided by its mission to restore dignity through work, it uses business as a force for good—training, employing, and placing individuals with physical, intellectual, or social challenges into meaningful jobs.
Over the years, Project Dignity has expanded its reach with initiatives that blend empowerment and enterprise. Dignity Mama operates pre-loved book stalls managed by mothers and their children with disabilities, while Dignity AI enables homebound individuals with paraplegia to earn an income by remotely operating service robots. Another arm, Dignity Kitchenette, offers opportunities for mental health patients to regain confidence through work in a supportive café environment.
Beyond Singapore, Koh extended the organisation’s impact internationally with the establishment of a Hong Kong outpost in 2019. His pioneering approach has inspired many within the region’s social entrepreneurship ecosystem, proving that inclusivity and sustainability can go hand in hand. In recognition of his leadership and compassion, Koh was honoured with the Tatler Impact Award for Humanity in 2024.
