Co-founder and creative director, motoguo
Kinder Eng’s time at Raffles College of Higher Education was a career-defining moment because it is where he met fellow designer Moto Guo, with whom he would co-found a fashion label in 2015, alongside business partner Jay Perry Ang.
motoguo started as a menswear label before progressing into its eccentric, genderless designs beloved in China, Japan, the United Kingdom and the United States.
In 2016, it became the first Southeast Asian label to be shortlisted for the prestigious LVMH Prize for Young Fashion Designers.
Since then, motoguo has amassed a big following in the global fashion and entertainment industry. Its designs have been spotted on the world’s biggest celebrities and on hit TV shows, such as HBO’s Euphoria and Netflix’s Emily in Paris. In 2022, Eng was among the eight Malaysians recognised on the Forbes 30 under 30 Asia List.
