Kiki Poh is a shading and grooming artist at Pixar Animation Studios. She is the first Malaysian to work at Pixar, a dream she has harboured since she was a child captivated by Disney cartoons. Fascinated by how animators brought their imagination to life on screen, she pursued a master’s degree in visual effects from the Savannah College of Art and Design in 2008. In 2010, she joined Pixar, breathing life into beloved characters in films like Toy Story, Monsters, and Luca. For the upcoming movie Inside Out 2, she aims to create diverse characters that reflect representation. A leader and mentor, having been promoted to technical director, Poh is currently leading a shading team on an unannounced movie. Through her work and advocacy for more Asian women in leadership positions in her field, Poh is breaking stereotypes and fostering a more inclusive and diverse creative landscape.
