Founder and CEO, Mesolitica
The technologist advancing Malaysia’s AI capabilities through local innovation
Khalil Nooh is the founder and CEO of Mesolitica, a pioneering Malaysian artificial intelligence start-up focused on democratising language AI through open source innovation. He led the development of MaLLaM, Malaysia’s first localised large language model, trained to support Bahasa Melayu, regional languages and local dialects, helping advance AI accessibility and sovereignty. MaLLaM secured early support from Nvidia, Microsoft and AWS, with the technology later deployed to Malaysia’s National AI Office and Radio Televisyen Malaysia. In his ‘The Future Is Solo’ AI residency at 500 Global (SEA), Khalil aims to lower barriers for Malaysians to create with AI and become self-sufficient entrepreneurs.
