A former minister turned media voice expanding Malaysia’s influence through the globally resonant podcast ‘Keluar Sekejap’

Khairy Jamaluddin, one of Malaysia’s most recognisable political figures, has successfully transitioned from public office to media, emerging as a leading voice in Malaysia’s socio-political landscape. After a distinguished career that included serving as Minister of Health, Minister of Youth and Sports, and Member of Parliament, Khairy now brings his sharp analysis and wit to Keluar Sekejap, the podcast he co-hosts with former UMNO colleague Shahril Hamdan.

Since its launch in 2023, Keluar Sekejap has become one of Malaysia’s most influential podcasts, known for its candid discussions on politics, policy, and society. By 2025, the show had amassed a substantial following across YouTube and Spotify, drawing listeners from across Malaysia and the diaspora. In April 2025, the duo took Keluar Sekejap international with a live UK tour, hosting sold-out sessions in Manchester and London (April 25–26). The tour expanded the podcast’s reach while engaging Malaysians abroad in real-time discussions about governance, public life, and the nation’s future.

Khairy’s deft ability to combine intellectual clarity with humour and accessibility has made him a cross-generational favourite, bridging political awareness between older voters and younger Malaysians. His recent re-engagement with national politics—reportedly exploring a return to UMNO ahead of the Sabah state election—underscores his continuing relevance in Malaysia’s political conversation. Through Keluar Sekejap, Khairy remains a dynamic and influential thought leader, proving that his voice still shapes public discourse far beyond the halls of government.
