When access to education was most disrupted during the pandemic, Khairul Anwar Mohamad Zaki and his team at edtech startup Pandai allowed students to continue learning through gamifi ed quizzes that align with their national syllabus. One of Malaysia’s fastest-growing edtech companies with more than 400,000 registered students using its app, it uses AI and machine learning to identify students’ strengths and weaknesses. In 2022, Pandai raised US$2.3 million from investors such as Y Combinator and Global Founders Capital.
