Answering your phone simply by putting your finger to your ear is now a reality thanks to Kevin Johan Wong’s Origami Labs, which has developed the first wearable that puts a voice assistant at your fingertips—literally. The inspiration for the product came from Kevin’s father, who’s visually impaired and requires screen-free alternatives to interact with technology. The company’s Orii smart ring is a wearable technology that allows users to not only listen to a phone call, but also to perform commands, using cutting- edge bone conduction technology. Kevin made headlines when Origami Labs raised more than US$500,000 via crowdfunding last year—over 13 times the original target. It has since received further investment, including from the Alibaba Entrepreneurs Fund.
