Chairman, Asia, Christie’s
Kevin Ching came out of retirement in 2023 to take on the chairman role at Christie’s Asia
After serving as Sotheby’s CEO in Asia for 15 years, Kevin Ching came out of retirement in 2023 to take on the chairman role at Christie’s Asia.
Prior to his tenure at Sotheby’s, Ching was a board executive director and group legal counsel at Dickson Concepts, overseeing legal and business affairs in the luxury products sector. He also served as a partner at Johnson Stokes & Master, one of Hong Kong’s largest law firms, and was the Chief Representative of its Beijing Office. Persuaded that his professional negotiation skills would be a perfect fit in an auction house, he eventually pivoted.
As chairman of Christie’s Asia, Ching plays a pivotal role in deepening and expanding client relationships across the region. His appointment aligns with Christie’s strategic commitment to enhancing its business in Asia, coinciding with the relocation of its Asia Pacific headquarters to The Henderson in Hong Kong in 2024.
