Of the four children of late Philippine Star founder Betty Go-Belmonte, it was Kevin Belmonte who led his mother’s newspaper into the digital age as president and CEO of PhilStar.com. The success of the Philippine Star’s online edition can be credited to Belmonte’s business acumen, which he no doubt developed during his time with SGV and Co., where he was partner-in-charge of the revenue enhancement and strategy services practice of the business consulting division.

One might also credit Belmonte’s education, as he graduated with a bachelor’s degree in economics from the Ateneo de Manila University, and then with a master’s degree in management from the J.L. Kellogg Graduate School of Management of Northwestern University in Illinois.

Belmonte is vice-chairman of the boutique real estate company Nuvoland, which developed the Infinity Tower in Bonifacio Global City and Nuvo District in Quezon City. He has also been a director of IP Ventures, Inc., Coal Asia, Casa Europe, Inc., the Nationwide Development Corporation, and People Asia.
