Dr Kev Lim is the CEO and co-founder of QueueMed, an online medical-appointment and mobile queue-management system to help healthcare providers and patients avoid long waits at the doctor’s office.

An idea that came to him out of his own frustration from waiting for extended periods at a hospital for his daughter’s check-ups, Lim partnered with a group of doctors to create a digital solution that will allow patients to select a doctor, choose a convenient time and date, book their appointments and pay online. It even enables to patients check the live queue status to better plan their trip to the doctor.

Since its launch in 2019, QueueMed has been implemented in nearly 500 clinics and hospitals in Malaysia, and helped over 1.9 million patients to optimise their day, with more than 9 million bookings made. Amid the pandemic QueueMed was one of four online-appointment service providers selected by the Ministry of Health to help its clinics manage patient flow and reduce congestion to ensure adherence to the SOPs. In 2020, QueueMed was also one of the Top 10 winners and start-ups in the Selangor Accelerator Programme.

Dr Lim says QueueMed HealthTech is currently working on creating new services aimed at addressing the gaps to ensure a seamless doctor-patient experience.
