Kenneth Atkinson OBE (Vietnamese name is Pham Kien Son) was born and raised in Manchester, England. After graduating from the University of Sheffield, he began his career in finance and established an investment consulting company in Hong Kong. Currently, he is known for his role as the Founder and Senior Advisor of Grant Thornton Vietnam, as well as an Independent Director of several companies including Nam Long Investment Corp.
His full name is always accompanied by OBE, as the British businessman was awarded the Order of the British Empire (OBE) by the British Monarchy, in recognition of his contributions to strengthening the bilateral trade relationship between Vietnam and the United Kingdom.
In September 2025, Kenneth Atkinson OBE is set to publish his memoir “Never Say No”, recounting his more than 50-year professional journey and over 35 years of commitment to Vietnam. Beyond his professional activities, Kenneth Atkinson is also actively involved in social and business community roles, having received prestigious recognitions and held leadership positions in organizations such as BritCham Vietnam, where he continues to promote bilateral trade and investment cooperation between Vietnam and international partners.
