Kara David

Kara David stands as one of the most respected figures in Philippine journalism, a documentarist whose career at GMA Network has spanned nearly three decades and helped shape the national understanding of poverty, injustice and the human condition. As a longtime host of I-Witness, she has become synonymous with courageous investigative reporting and empathetic storytelling that amplifies marginalized voices and provokes critical social dialogue.

Beyond her on-air work, David serves as chairperson of the Department of Journalism at the University of the Philippines Diliman, where she bridges academic rigour with real-world media practice.
