The trailblazing technopreneur has shaped drone technology around the world

Helming the first-ranked drone-services company in the world, Aerodyne Group—a DT3 (Drone Tech, Data Tech, and Digital Transformation) enterprise solutions provider, Kamarul A Muhamed left the corporate world and founded Aerodyne in 2014, first specialising in drone aerial imagery before moving on to DT3 and incorporating artificial intelligence to enhance its processes. Today, Aerodyne employs 1,000 employees (300 of which are AI engineers and data scientists) across 35 countries, and serves clients in various sectors such as oil and gas, telecoms, renewables and construction.

Precision agriculture is now its fastest-growing vertical with the success of Agrimor, a super app incepted in 2020 which addresses labour shortage in the agriculture industry. In 2022, Aerodyne closed three M&A deals in North America, Australia and the Middle East, and is expected to close another two in Latin America and Europe.

In 2020, Kamarul was named Ernst & Young’s Entrepreneur of the Year for Malaysia, while he also won Technology Entrepreneur of the Year.
