The Power Couples | A versatile graphic designer with a quirky style in both work and fashion
Graphic designer Jyunc-cih Li (李君慈) has made a significant impact on the creative landscape with her versatile and innovative approach to visual arts. Her design work spans a wide range, including book cover design, brand visuals, video typography and subtitle design, artistic exhibitions, and even music video typography. Li's client list boasts renowned artists such as Sandy Lam, A-Mei, Penny Tai, and CosmosPeople, showcasing her ability to bring their visions to life through her unique style.
In 2018 Li founded the Ladybug project, dedicated to promoting female designers in Taiwan. The following year, she curated the “eyes on her: girls graphics” women's design exhibition, further solidifying her commitment to empowering and showcasing the talents of her peers. Li's entrepreneurial spirit led her to co-found Graphics Room, an integrated team of individual designers working together as a collective that fosters collaboration and innovation. Recognised as an emerging leader in her field, Li was selected for Tatler’s Gen.T List in 2022, a testament to her impact on the industry.
Her fashion style, described as “quirky” by singer He, is a reflection of her versatility and carefree spirit. Li's approach to fashion is not about wearing extravagant outfits but rather about being true to her current preferences, which can range from functional to princess-like to minimalist, depending on her mood.
Influenced by Japanese culture and art, Li also greatly admires the work of internationally renowned musician Ryuichi Sakamoto. It was through seeing Sakamoto wearing Maison Margiela that Li's fashion preferences shifted toward European styles, characterised by flexibility and creativity. This openness to different cultures and design influences is a hallmark of Li's approach to both fashion and design, as she continues to push boundaries and redefine visual landscapes.
