When karate star Junna Tsukii bagged gold at the World Games in 2022, she became the first Filipina and only the second-ever Filipino athlete to do so. The world number three in the 50kg category, she also won bronze at the Asian Games in 2018 and gold at the Southeast Asian Games in 2019. A joint national who chose to represent the Philippines rather than Japan, Junna also runs popular social media karate channels.
