Social services leader, and champion of gender diversity and women’s rights

Junie Foo is the chief executive of multi-service charitable organisation Methodist Welfare Services and the president of the Singapore Council of Women’s Organisations. She is one of the foremost champions for corporate gender diversity, helping create opportunities that let women occupy senior leadership roles.

Foo is also founding co-chair of BoardAgender, which encourages the inclusion of more women on corporate boards and has been a mentor at Young Women’s Leadership Connection since 2014.

She was an inaugural member of the Diversity Action Committee and is a member of the Council of Board Diversity, as well as chairman of the Singapore Kindness Movement. Foo, who is fluent in English, Mandarin and Japanese, has also served on the Institute of Banking and Finance corporate banking industry workgroup.

Until 2018, Junie Foo was the first non‑Japanese and first female to occupy a management position in Japanese bank MUFG’s corporate banking division for Asia and Oceania.
