June Chen’s background is in investment banking, but when she observed how most of China’s well-known hotels were managed by overseas brands, national pride drove her to take on the role of vice president at Kaiyuan Senbo, a hotel brand under the New Century Group founded by her father Chen Miaolin. The company now has 10 resorts in the works and ambitious expansion plans.
