The hospitality leader showcases Taiwanese culture through design, food and service

Chairman Jun-lang Dai recently expanded Chanyee Hotel Day Cultural Tourism Group’s portfolio with TAI Urban Resort, which opened in Kaoshiung in 2022. In the tradition of Chanyee Hotels’ vision of integrating local culture into innovatively designed accommodations, TAI Urban Resort is connected to the Kaoshiung Public Library’s main building. Located in the New Bay Area of Asia, this is the group’s eighth hotel and its flagship brand.

TAI Urban Resort is a realization of Dai’s original ambition of showcasing Taiwanese culture through design, food, and service. The resort is known for its key features: the Reading Plaza on the 25th floor, with floor-to-ceiling bookshelves facing the city’s skyline; and the cantilevered transparent infinity pool on the 24th floor. In the same year, Dai announced the opening of 5-star restaurant Papillion with two-Michelin-star chef Xavier Boyer directing operations. The 230-room hotel also features themed restaurants, a gym, spa, open-air panoramic bar, tea shop, bookstore, wine library, and banquet halls.
