Co-founder, Frshoff
The Rebels | Meet the twin brothers who made music their common interest and banded together to start their own collective
Born into a family in the business of style, twins Julien and Brandon Leo have become enigmatic trailblazers of their own in the realms of sartorial and sonic sophistication. The 20‐something co‐founders of music collective Frshoff, which was formed in New York during the pandemic lockdown, pride themselves as being on a creative odyssey of new‐wave, dual‐cultured Asian expression. Complete opposites in their personalities (one is an extrovert and the other, an introvert) as well as musical tastes—Julien is into electronic and alternative while Brandon is more R&B soul—their approach to fashion, songwriting and music production fuses their innate understanding of classicism and modernism, a testament to their free‐to‐create upbringing and parents, for whom elegance is a way of life. Armed with unique artistic sensibilities and a shared penchant for jewellery, the dynamic duo have not only produced music for some up‐and‐coming Asian acts in countries such as South Korea and the Philippines, but have also cultivated a community of creatives who, together, seek to shape a refreshing symphony of progressiveness, artfulness and undeniable finesse.
