Though he hails from the rich culinary landscape of Bacolod and honed his skills at Le Cordon Bleu, JP’s entrance to the Manila dining scene came with birthing pains. Still, his perseverance with elevating Filipino food paid off, and he successfully opened with Sarsa, Kafé Batwan, and Liberation Shawarma. These days, JP enjoys rockstar status in the culinary world. Not only is he a Master Chef (2011 – 2012), his energy and youth expressed in a lifestyle of travel and surfing have built a halo of influence around him, as evidenced by his 131.8k Instagram followers @chefjayps. He enjoys travelling, whether to Ubud’s Food Festival or at Madrid’s Fusion event. He is in talks to star in several TV shows.
