Joyce Ho

Artist

As a cross-discipline artist in Taiwan, Joyce Ho graduated with a bachelor's degree in international relations from the University of California and a master's from the School of Art & Art History at the University of Iowa. Her work has been exhibited in MoCA Shanghai, Today Art Museum in Beijing and Taipei Fine Arts Museum, and at the Kobe Biennale, the Asian Art Biennial and the Busan Biennale. Joyce began to work as a drama director in 2010 and has produced a number of works as a director/screenwriter including Room 206, Four Seasons and Semi-transparent. She adds partial segments of movement, slices of daily habits and bewildering shadows to her works in the form of paint, devices or images, in order to show the close and distant tensions between humans and reality. In Joyce's view, any form of creation is based on observations of daily life and any doubts arising after observation may turn into the motivation and power for exploring reality.
