Founder and CEO, NutriAsia Inc, Del Monte Pacific Ltd
As the eldest son of the industrialist and Unilab founder Jose Yao Campos, Butch Campos was destined to be the leader of a vast business empire. Yet his path to the top defied expectations. Among the first crucial steps of his career was to walk away from his family’s huge pharmaceutical company to venture into the business of food and beverage. He founded NutriAsia in 1991 and proceeded to acquire and consolidate smaller food companies into what is now one of the Philippines’ leading producers of condiments. Campos also acquired the Singapore-listed Del Monte Pacific Ltd in 2005, and then went on to acquire Del Monte in the US in 2013 for US$1.7 billion. Today, both NutriAsia and Del Monte have market-leading products that stack shelves in grocery stores everywhere in the Philippines.
A known art collector, Campos also chairs the Metropolitan Museum of Manila and the Bonifacio Arts Foundation Inc.
