Ride-hailing business Tada, where Jonathan Chua is regional general manager, has committed to delivering stable prices for commuters—without taking a cut from drivers. It does this by leveraging big data as currency. With the consent of its drivers, Tada sells data such as driver location, distance and commuter behaviour to third parties, while drivers receive equity tokens in the form of MVL coins, which can be used to pay for services. Tada has a presence in Singapore and Bangkok and will enter Hong Kong in November 2024.
