Queen of T-pop Jolin Tsai takes over the world

Jolin Tsai is a Taiwanese singer, songwriter, and actress known as the “Asian Pop Queen” and the “Queen of C-Pop”. Being one of the most influential figures in Chinese pop culture, she endeavours to incorporate social themes into her dance-pop brand of music, which has garnered commercial and critical acclaim.

Tsai’s career took off after winning a singing competition produced by MTV Mandarin in 1998. She released her debut album, 1019, a year later. In 2009, she founded her own record label Eternal Music Production Co. Ltd., allowing her to take full control of her career. She is the winner of seven Golden Melody Awards, as well as one of Taiwan’s highest-paid female singers. With over 25 million records sold, she is also the highest-selling female recording artist in Taiwan since 2000.
