Budding artist John Yuyi graduated from the Department of Fashion Design at Shih Chien University. She declares herself a severe “net addict”. Her best-known works translate her Facebook photos into temporary tattoos. This unique creative idea aroused public attention and won her favour from Gucci, so much so that in 2017, the brand invited her to design advertisements for them targeted at millennials. John was the first Taiwanese artist to collaborate with the brand. The series of advertisements in her distinctive personal style turned out to be a great success, becoming one of the brand’s most popular Instagram posts. In 2018, John held her first solo exhibition upon invitation by New York-based The Art Vacancy.
