John Marco Rasjid’s online beauty-commerce site Sociolla is paving the way for the shift in digital beauty marketing in Indonesia

Beauty and fashion e-commerce platform Sociolla, a relatively young company, founded by entrepreneur John Marco Rasjid, is emerging as a key player in Indonesia’s digital marketplace. Rasjid founded Sociolla in 2015 along with his friends Christopher Madiam and Chrisanti Indiana. Now that these three were at the helm, it was able to get funding to further boost its efforts to become Indonesia’s top online beauty destination.

With more than 200 brands available on its site, Sociolla is now slowly expanding its business offline to create a personalized physical-shopping experience for its customer base with its 30 stores nationwide. All this while maintaining a wide reach online through its app SOCO and media site Beauty Journal by Sociolla.

Rasjid is also involved with tech-insurance company PasarPolis, and marketing and advertising agency iProspect Valuklik, where he sits on the company’s boards.

A graduate of the University of British Columbia, Canada, with a degree in commerce and corporate finance, Rasjid began his career in banking, working with Standard Chartered Bank in 2007.
