The Mandopop superstar JJ Lin continues to dabble in endeavours from esports to the metaverse, while also curating moments of everyday magic for his fans.
A Singaporean singer-songwriter whose meteoric rise began with his 2003 debut album, Music Voyager, Lin has, over the past 22 years, solidified his status as one of the most celebrated and sought-after artists in Asia. Nicknamed “The Walking CD” for his flawless live vocals, Lin achieved a historic milestone in July 2024 with his 200th career concert. His music has garnered an astounding 120 billion streams across major platforms worldwide, and his impact is genre-defining. As a versatile artist, he has collaborated with global stars such as Jackie Chan, Steve Aoki, and Jackson Wang, bridging cultures through music.
The JJ20 World Tour stands as a testament to his global appeal. Spanning three years, the tour featured a record-breaking 104 shows across Asia, North America, Europe, and Australia, and culminated with a historic 9-show finale at Beijing’s Bird’s Nest Stadium. The tour made history in Seattle as the first Mandopop arena concert and saw him sell out two consecutive nights at the Barclays Center in New York. His success propelled him to 5th place in the Global Concert Pulse ranking, making him the highest-ranking Asian artist. In December 2024, he embarked on the highly anticipated Final Lap of the tour, which featured an upgraded live experience that pushed the boundaries of stage production and musical storytelling. This journey celebrated 20 years of music and embodied his mission to bring Chinese pop music to a global audience.
Since his 2003 debut album, Music Voyager, Lin has skyrocketed to fame across Asia, solidifying his status as one of the region’s most celebrated singer-songwriters. Beyond his musical achievements, Lin has diversified his interests, exploring ventures in fashion, coffee, esports, and art. He founded Team Still Moving Under Gunfire (Team SMG), a professional esports team, and also owns his own music production company, JFJ Productions, and the lifestyle apparel brand SMG. His creative collaborations extend to two highly sought-after BearBricks with Medicom Toys and exclusive collections with Neighborhood and Bape. In September 2025, he bridged music and gaming on a global level through partnerships with major titles like Honor of Kings. In November 2024, he released his book, Beyond the Music: Celebrating 20 Years of JJ Lin, reflecting on his creative evolution.
In April 2023, he celebrated his 20th anniversary with the release of his 15th album, Happily, Painfully After.
In July 2022, Lin co-founded ARC, an app-based community aimed at elevating Asian ventures on a global scale, partnering with Singaporean entrepreneurs Kiat Lim and Elroy Cheo. As he continues to innovate, including launching live-streaming concerts and eyeing projects bridging Web2 and Web3, Lin remains a transformative force in both the music industry and beyond, with ambitions to break even more records in the coming years. Looking ahead, Lin has begun a new chapter focused on mentorship, education, and innovation, laying the foundation for a groundbreaking initiative in music education that aims to nurture the next generation of musical talent.
His commitment to curating beautiful moments extends to his hospitality venture: Miracle Coffee. After a year-long pop-up at Marina Bay Sands’ Rain Oculus, his specialty coffee brand has seeked a permanent space at the ArtScience Museum lobby. Taking over the space of his second kiosk, the café, opened in 2023, features his signature range of pour-overs and a food menu. The artisanal coffee brand is already seeing global expansion with more than 10 outlets and counting.
