With years of shrewd business acumen gained from working in the chemicals industry, Jimmy Masrin has shown he can branch out into diverse industries, including tech, as well as touching people’s lives through charity work

Jimmy Masrin is the President Director and CEO of Caturkarsa Megatunggal and Vice-President Director with Lautan Luas. Both companies engage in business with industrial chemicals, but have diversified across several industries like mining, fuel distribution, supply chain and logistics. In 1997, he was the driving force in taking Lautan Luas public.

Masrin also co-founded Maloekoe Ventures, which has invested in successful tech start-up ventures such as the video-on-demand streaming company iflix and the Indonesian game developer Agate. After the Indian Ocean earthquake and tsunami in 2004, Masrin became involved in charity, and has sat on the board of both Habitat for Humanity Indonesia and Happy Hearts Indonesia.

Outside of work, Masrin enjoys golf and in 2011 started the inaugural Indonesian Masters golf tournament, which is now the Asian Tour’s flagship event. He earned his degree from the University of Oklahoma and completed a Master’s from The American Graduate School of International Management, Arizona, in 1987.
