Founder, Shang Xia
Jiang Qionger, founder and former CEO and artistic director of Shang Xia, is a world-renown Chinese designer. Jiang started her formal training at Tongji University in Shanghai, and proceeded with her studies in furniture and interior design at the École Nationale Supérieure des Arts Décoratifs in Paris. After years of studying in Europe, she returned to her home country and continued to explore exquisite traditional craftsmanship while bringing a contemporary touch to her design.
In partnership with French fashion house Hermès Group, she founded the luxury lifestyle brand Shang Xia in 2010, with an aim of promoting Chinese culture and heritage to the world. Shang Xia offers a diverse product portfolio that includes ready-to-wear, leather goods, furniture, and home accessories, interpreting the brand’s core values of connecting East and West, elegance and innovation, simplicity and magnificence. Some pieces are now part of the collections of the British Museum in London and the Musée Guimet in Paris
Since December 2020, the holding company Exor (which also owns Ferrari) has become majority shareholder of Shang Xia. The brand then launched its first-ever runway show at Paris Fashion Week in October 2021, and recently announced that Jiang would remain on the board as a brand strategy adviser.
