Jennie Chua is a well-known icon of the hospitality industry, and is currently the chairman of Temasek Foundation. Under her leadership, Temasek Foundation has further enhanced its philanthropic outreach, drawing on her extensive experience. In recognition of her contributions in many fields of public service from arts to healthcare, she was awarded the Distinguished Service Order as part of the National Day Awards 2024.
Chua has a wealth of experience, having helmed prestigious brands such as The Ascott Group, Raffles and Swissotel, and breaking through the glass ceiling by being the Raffles Hotel’s first Singaporean and female general manager in 1990. She also became the first woman in 2009 to chair the Singapore International Chamber of Commerce in its 172-year history. Singapore’s non-resident ambassador to the United Mexican States served for many years as the chairman of the Community Chest and is now its adviser.
