One of the country’s first female social media influencers and content creators, singer and comic actor Jenn Chia also impacted the media and advertising landscape


Jenn Chia is one of Malaysia’s pioneering female content creators and social media influencers. She is also a singer-songwriter and the co-founder of social media and content agency Seed. Creatives.

A psychology and communications student, Chia started out as a professional singer-songwriter for eight years, performing regularly at festivals, weddings, and corporate events before she started posting covers and original songs on her YouTube channel So, I’m Jenn. After graduating from college, she worked briefly in a production house that made commercials before setting out on her own as a freelancer while venturing into making short films.

Having a flair for comedy that complemented her upbeat, quirky and fun persona, the self-taught content creator soon became known for her funny videos, which started with 'Crazy Bra Lady', before developing into more creative videos featuring various over-the-top comical characters Chia created, all of which she also acted out herself.

With a growing fanbase, Chia began to attract brand-endorsement deals, which she presented candidly and with a refreshing genuineness, emphasising to clients that authenticity was important above all. Soon, Chia was tapped by brands to produce creative content for the products and campaigns, with one of the most memorable being the Clinique Moisture Surge video, which garnered more than one million views.

In 2020, Chia made her business official and co-founded Seed. Creatives with her partner Jon Liddell, which they envision as a one-stop agency that will offer brands digital content solutions, from ideation to execution.
