Jean Yip’s stewardship of her eponymous haircare and beauty empire extends back to the early 1980s

The Jean Yip trademark has become quite the quintessential representation of beauty and wellness, with more than 70 outlets in Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia and China. Founder and chairman Jean Yip’s eponymous brand has evolved from a single outlet in Katong Plaza in 1982 to a multi-million-dollar conglomerate with a presence in Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia and China. 
Jean Yip Group offers hairdressing, beauty and slimming services, underscored by the company’s core values of trust, value and friendliness. The organisation has picked up various awards over the years, including the Reader’s Digest Most Trusted Brand Award, and the Superbrands accolade 10 years in a row. Jean Yip Group is also active in corporate social responsibility, participating in various initiatives in aid of causes such as heightening awareness of breast cancer and children’s cancer.   
Outside of work, Yip pursues her other loves of cooking and interior design. She has three children, Cheryl, Rachel and Russell, with husband Mervin Wee, who is also the creative and managing director at Jean Yip Group.
