Creative Director, Ogilvy Malaysia
Jaz Lee is Ogilvy Malaysia’s creative director and one of the youngest ad men to lead a top creative agency. He is one of the top ten most awarded creatives in Malaysia in 2017 and 2020 in Campaign Brief Asia’s annual list, and is among Forbes’ 30 Under 30 in Asia in 2021.
Lee entered the world of advertising at only 19, with no experience in the industry save for a fascination sparked after watching an episode of Mad Men and his own ideas about advertising. Just on the strength of a cover letter he wrote to the former executive creative director of Leo Burnett Malaysia, Eric Cruz, he was hired as a junior copywriter.
Only a few years later Lee was promoted to associate director, but left to join Ogilvy as creative director, building an impressive portfolio with advertising projects for some of the world’s biggest brands such as Coca-Cola, Nestlé, Guinness and Samsung. Many of his projects have won prestigious advertising and marketing awards, including the Cannes Lions, The One Show, London International Awards, AdFest and The Effies.
