Jau Hsiung Huang, chairman and CEO of CyberLink, advances the cause of facial recognition software for a more secure society

CyberLink was formed in 1996 by Dr. Jau Huang, a PhD graduate of computer science at UCLA, and a computer science professor at NTU, where he co-founded its Communications and Multimedia Lab. The company is now a world leader in multimedia software and AI facial recognition technology, developing over 200 patented technologies and shipping over 400 million apps and software worldwide. In recent years, CyberLink’s FaceMe facial recognition engine has found market opportunity in the machine vision industry as more and more businesses adopt facial recognition technology for identity verification and access control across several industries, including retail, banking, healthcare, manufacturing, and security.

Addressing the need for enhanced safety protocols during the pandemic, CyberLink introduced FaceMe Health, a contactless biometrics solution that combined mask detection with temperature screening. In 2021, their flagship suite of award-winning creative editing software, Director 365, was given an upgrade with new AI-powered tools.
