Jasmine always knew philanthropy was her calling—and she’s taken action. In 2007, while still studying at HKIS, she co-founded Ember, a charity (still going strong today) that supports education in rural China by granting scholarships to girls in Guangdong, and by providing college admissions and career counselling. After a stint at Yale, she continued her efforts, starting Philanthropy in Motion, a social enterprise that provides young people with the skills, training, funds and networks necessary to become intelligent philanthropists themselves. If it turns out more people like Jasmine, Hong Kong will certainly have a lot to thank her for.
