Jane Chuck’s style has never been about rigid rules or a fixed aesthetic.

Jane Chuck (real name Jane Lau) is a social media influencer, content creator and the founder of beauty and lifestyle brands Chuck’s and Motherchuckers, respectively. She started out as a blogger at only 14 before gradually transitioning to make-up tutorials and blogging about fashion, eventually establishing herself across social media platforms as a fashion and beauty influencer.

Her style has never been about rigid rules or a fixed aesthetic. Instead, it’s an ever-evolving expression of what feels right in the moment—a wardrobe in constant conversation with her life, mood, and experiences. “I don’t really follow a certain style,” she says. “Whatever I like, I’ll wear. Not all trends are suitable for me.”

That self-assured approach didn’t happen overnight. As a teenager, Jane experimented widely—even giving the punk-goth look of the early 2000s a go. “It was the thing when I was 15,” she laughs, “but it’s not for me.” The lesson was clear: style works best when it works for you.

Today, Jane describes her signature as “comfortable,” with a mix of menswear influences, gender-neutral silhouettes, and—more recently—a newfound appreciation for colour. “I used to not like colours, but as I grew up, I realised they bring a nice touch to my outfits.”

Fashion weeks have been a highlight of her style journey, offering the chance to wear the latest season’s samples—a privilege she values most when the pieces align naturally with her own sensibilities. She’s also constantly inspired by the world around her, drawing cues from celebrities and influencers. Recently, Dua Lipa has caught her eye for her bold accessorising and playful layering.

Shopping, for Jane, is as much about discovery as it is about necessity. She indulges more when travelling or scrolling online, with her latest spree centred on a European summer wardrobe of ruffles and airy silhouettes.

For Jane, style boils down to one thing: confidence. “Being stylish is being confident in what you wear,” she says. It’s a philosophy that keeps her evolving but always unmistakably herself.

“Being stylish is being confident in what you wear.”
